Getting started
Build a first workbook — wages in Yerevan, as a chart — commit it, and share it.
This walk-through takes about ten minutes. You need access to ARMID Lab: Ridgital staff open it from the console (ARMID → Lab); customers whose ARMID access includes the Lab open it from the dashboard (Explorer → Lab).
1. Create a problem
- Choose New problem.
- Give it a title, for example How have wages in Yerevan grown?
- On the Problem tab, describe it in Markdown: who asks it, which decision it serves. A hypothesis, and what the answer will not claim, are good sections to add (Start from an outline inserts them).
2. Write the workbook
Open the Workbook tab. The editor holds the workbook’s YAML; press Ctrl+Space anywhere to see what may be written there.
title: Wages in Yerevan
nodes:
wages:
series: { find: "average monthly nominal wages", place: Yerevan }
resample: { to: year, how: mean }
select: { year: year, wage: value }
trend:
chart: { from: wages, type: line, x: year, y: wage, unit: AMD }
wagesreads every ARMID series whose name contains the words, about Yerevan; turns it into yearly means; keeps two columns and renamesvaluetowage.trenddrawswagesas a line.
Choose ▶ Run. Each node’s result appears below the editor: its table, or its chart.
3. Commit
Write what changed in the message box (for example First version) and choose Commit. The workbook is now commit #1. Every later commit adds a new one; the Commits tab lists them and can make an older one the head again.
4. Pin and share
- On the Dashboard tab, choose Edit layout and pin
trend. - On the Artifacts tab, choose New artifact, pick who may open it, and create it. Copy its link and send it.
